RETAINING WALLS

Tensiter retaining walls are composed by a series of precast reinforced concrete modular panels, laying on an on-site previously executed foundation beam.

The stability of the wall is ensured by a stabilising horizontal reinforced concrete platform built on-site after the installation of the precast elements.

Tensiter walls are produced in five different types, which are optimized to meet all project needs.

Their designs vary depending on the positioning of the stabilizing platform and on how it is fastened to the precast element.

The visible front side is the same for every type of structure and the external surface can be provided in smooth concrete, or with a mold concrete texture, or with a stone covering.

The designs of Tensiter retaining walls were developed over 60 years, during which the project has been continuously developed and updated to increase its performances, thanks to the knowledge acquired in a wide range of uses.

Type “N” and type “C” walls are cantilever ribbed walls.

Type “T” walls consists of vertical panels with a tie beam between the vertical precast element and the on-site cast reinforced concrete slab.

Type “S” walls have a wider section and are specifically designed for abutments.

Type “F” walls have a stabilizing reinforced concrete slab positioned at an intermediate height, instead of at the base, to reduce excavation volumes for the banking-retaining walls.

The elements come in a standard module of 1.25 m or 2.50 m and have reinforcement ribs.
